One of the most loved books of all time- Gabriel García Márquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude is getting a screen adaptation for Netflix. The OTT platform shared the first teaser of what seems to be an epic saga. Set against the backdrop of the mythical town of Macondo, the series will narrate the Buendia family saga – much like the novel. From the teaser, it appears that the film will be a intrinsic drama with stunning visuals.
The teaser takes the viewers into the mesmerising world created by García Márquez, featuring pivotal characters José Arcadio Buendía and Úrsula Iguarán. The series teaser opens with the iconic line, “Many years later, as he faced the firing squad, Colonel Aureliano Buendía was to remember that distant afternoon when his father took him to discover ice.”
