“By building and driving the fastest cars and setting new track records, we not only showcased our technical prowess but also ignited a passion for the sport across the nation. Our achievements are a testament to the potential and excitement that drag racing can bring to India,” Imran said while speaking to WION.
Imran Majid co-founded KIKShift with two friends after his passion for the sport. In addition to creating the fastest automobiles, KIKShift also commenced offering custom redesigns according to the specific needs of each client. Imran’s success in building and trading cars which even included the R35 automobile in which he currently races, led to his reputation in the industry even though he had no intention of turning his passion into a business.
At an early age, Imran found his passion for modifying his own cars, inspired by the speed driving of a dear family staff member who used to take him to school.
Imran a true son who would often find himself spending days with his dad, modifying his cars and speeding in them, never imagined finding his fascination with the world of automotive design and racing turning to reality a tad faster.
Imran Majid’s career took a pivotal turn when he had to unexpectedly take over his family business overnight after the passing of both his mother and grandfather. After working hard as a travel agent and forex trader and demonstrating remarkable leadership and resilience in the family business for eight straight years, Imran transitioned to pursuing his true passion for bespoke cars.
In February 2020, it was the assignment of the creation of the Pod Car for the Netflix film AK vs AK, with Andolan Films that Imran and his skilled team took up the objective of building a custom in 21 days.
About working on the automotive experience for AK vs AK, Imran shares, “Creating the Pod Car for ‘AK vs AK’ was more than just a project; it was an opportunity to push the boundaries of automotive design and filmmaking. In just 21 days, we crafted an experience that seamlessly blends innovation with cinematic storytelling, setting a new standard for what’s possible in the industry.”
It was this transition that led to the founding of KIKShift, a venture dedicated to automotive innovation. Under Imran’s leadership, KIKShift has achieved significant milestones.
Imran’s journey reflects a blend of strategic acumen and a deep commitment to automotive excellence, supported by a skilled team specialising in mechanical engineering, automotive design, and more.
