A breathtaking aerial video of the journey from the base camp of Mount Everest to its summit was recorded by a drone, and has now gone viral.
The drone was created by DJI, a Chinese manufacturer, and the video that was made in collaboration with 8KRAW, has stunning visuals.
The four-minute-long footage starts from the base camp which is at an altitude of 5,300 metres.
The DJI Mavic 3 drone records the journey to the first campsite at 6,000 metres and provides breathtaking views of the Khumbu Icefall as well as the surrounding glaciers.
As it covers the majestic ascent to the summit, the video shows the mountaineers walking up or down the slope of the mountain. The drone pans out and shows the winding trail going down to the base camp.
The drone also captures the tent city at the base camp that has colourful tents scattered across the landscape.

The video, which went viral, garnered many comments from the users. One of the netizens said, ”This is one of the coolest videos I have ever seen. Great work.”
Meanwhile, another user said, ”OK, I can scratch climbing Everest off of my bucket list.”
”I’m surprised the drone was capable of generating the requisite lift at such altitudes,” commented a third user.
Mount Everest is the highest mountain on Earth with an elevation of 8,848 metres (29,029 feet) above sea level.
The mountain is located in the Himalayas, the mountainous range which covers the border between Nepal and Tibet, China.

The Himalayas are seen as the world’s iconic and challenging mountains to climb because of their harsh weather conditions and extreme altitudes.
The temperature in these mountains ranges between -60°C to -10°C and wind flows at a speed of over 100 mph (161 kph).
